I am pleased that the North Vancouver Community Players are promoting Canadian playwrights. Two of the last three plays I have directed in Hendry Hall have been Canadian. The Trouble With Richard has only been produced twice before, both in Ontario. We are honoured to mount this Western Canada premiere. The play and its playwright deserve more recognition, and I hope that community groups in Vancouver, especially on the North Shore, continue to seek out more Canadian scripts. There’s a wealth of good material out there! We’ve had a ball putting this one together. Enjoy! – Clive Saunders

The Trouble with Richard is the perfect antidote for this cold, dark and wet time of year.  A romantic comedy, just in time for Valentine’s Day! We are sure to be entertained by this marvellous cast of characters, expertly guided through their paces by a seasoned director. If you would like to become a part of North Vancouver Community Players, we would welcome you with open arms.   Just pick up a membership form from the Lobby and sign up today.  One of us will contact you within a short time to discuss your involvement with the Players.   Membership brings its rewards!. – Sue Worrow

CLive Saunders Director – This is the 13th play Clive has directed for NVCP. His most recent: Are You Being Served in 2005, Anniversary in 2007 and Death By Chocolate in 2010. He is delighted to be directing this Western Premiere production of The Trouble With Richard and thanks his outstanding cast and crew for all their work and dedication in a fun-filled team effort.
Adam Abrams Richard – Adam has performed annually with The Broadway Chorus since 2001, appearing in Priscilla, Queen of the Damned, Anne Murray of Green Gables, The Ghost Man Always Rings Twice, and most recently playing the Ad Man in Another Elfing Musical. Other stage credits include Ebenezer Humbug in The Plight Before Christmas at the Burnaby Village Museum; Mendel in Fiddler On The Roof (Footlight Theatre); and Danny/Harry Rankin in Bruce, The Musical (Theatre in the Raw). He also maintains the Vancouver Musical Theatre Calendar at Look for him in a Kal Tire TV ad this March.
Greg Bosworth Jack – This is Greg’s second time walking the planks of Hendry Hall.  He enjoyed playing a gay bishop in Bells of Hell with NVCP.  Other prior productions include The Doctor Will See You Now at Deep Cove Theatre and Sam Shepards’s True West with Kingbaby Theatre on Bowen Island.  Greg loves the intimate nature of Hendry Hall and is thrilled to be working again with the talented and hard working cast and crew of NVCP.
Tracy Labrosse Veronica – Tracy is thrilled to be back at Hendry Hall after previously playing Rosalind in Moon Over Buffalo and Sister James in Doubt.  Other favourite credits include Vera in And Then There Were None and Sally in Cash On Delivery (Metro Theatre), Ruth in Living Together (Theatre West Van) and Kate in Bedroom Farce (That Other Theatre Company).  Tracy is a graduate of the Theatre Arts program at Douglas College.  She is also co-artistic producer of That Other Theatre Company.
Angela Martin Gwyneth – “Just do it!” were the words from my acting coach when I suggested trying stage acting for the first time. With a passion for acting, and after studying the craft for film and TV, I decided to take the plunge and “walk the planks” for the first time here at Hendry Hall. I am blessed to be on my maiden theatre voyage surrounded and supported by talented people both on and behind the stage. This clever script and role allows me to connect to my inner bitch in ways never before imaginable! I am thankful for this incredible learning opportunity and the acting and life lessons it affords.
Paul Tourneur Andrew – Paul has been doing theatre in Vancouver, New Westminster and Burnaby since 1995. He only started to venture out to the North Shore back in 2005 when he played Reverend Canon Throbbing in Theatre West Van’s production of Habeas Corpus. His first production with Theatre North Van was Wrong Turn at Lungfish where he played Dominic De Caesar – an on-the-run low-level thug.  He has also played Ed Carmichael in You Can’t Take It With You. His most memorable role was Jonathan Harker in Vagabond Players’ production of Transylvanian Clockworks.
Barry Walker Willie – Acting on a dare, Barry first came to Hendry Hall five years ago in the NVCP production of Janus. He is very pleased to be returning with a talented cast in the Western Premiere of The Trouble With Richard. Acting up and acting out, which often comes too naturally to him, have become acting under the skillful guidance of Director, Clive Sanders.
