Frankenstein, The DIY Panto

Frankenstein, The DIY Panto

About the Play

Our next production will be of an entirely different genre! Lots of laughs, fabulous costumes, singing and dancing and timeless characters. Plenty of opportunities for audience participation and fun for the whole family. Be sure to book early for Frankenstein, the DIY Panto, our Christmas production, written by North Vancouver’s own Linda Sharp. Frankenstein’s castle is falling to pieces! A call goes out to Sherlock from Holmes on Homes, and his sidekick Dr. Watson to foil the evil contractor Strange Lestrange and his sidekicks Smash and Bash in an hilarious attempt to Make it Right! As usual, proceeds will go to charity. This year’s recipient will be Adam’s Apples Foundation (AAF), a non-profit organization established to address and prevent mental health issues facing youth today. AAF facilitates connection and mental health literacy programming in 27 schools across Greater Vancouver by encouraging inter-personal communication, understanding, and education among teens and pre-teens through their Apple Program and Core Connector Initiative training.

Frankenstein, The DIY Panto is produced by special arrangement with the Author.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES
Welcome to castle Frankenstein, a fantastic place where silliness lives and laughter resides. You will meet the good DIY fairy, a dame, a mad scientist, Igor, some villainous thieves, Holmes, Watson, a vampire, a creature and some very large mice. Cheer for the heroes and Boo at the villains. A huge thank you to NVCP cast and crew for their dedication and boundless talent. – Becky Oben

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Welcome to North Vancouver Community Players annual pantomime. We love to not only entertain patrons of all ages but to also support children’s endeavors on the North Shore. Christmas is our time for giving back to the community in many ways. This year the Charity we have chosen to receive the net proceeds is Adam’s Apples. This program was started in 2015. There are now Apple bowls in 27 schools and community centres. They are filled weekly to provide a safe and inclusive space for youth to have a healthy snack, start a conversation and connect with one another. Please remember to drop off your non-perishable food items in our Food Bank box. If you would like to join into the fun on and off stage, please check out our website North Van Community Players under the section Volunteer. We would love to have you aboard! – Fran Heaney
