Doctor of Oz: A Self-Help Panto!
About the Play
Our next production will be of an entirely different genre! Lots of laughs, fabulous costumes, sing-ing and dancing and timeless characters. Plenty of opportunities for audience participation and fun for the whole family. Be sure to book early for The Doctor of Oz: A Self-Help Panto, our Christmas production, written by North Vancouver’s own Linda Sharp and directed by Miles Lavkulich. As usual, proceeds will go to charity. This year’s recipient will be Cassie + Friends, transforming the lives of kids and families affected by juvenile arthritis.
Doctor of Oz: A Self-Help Panto! is produced by special arrangement with the Author.
DIRECTOR’S NOTES
Ahh Pantos … a great tradition. A chance to get out and have an hour of fun and get away from your day-to-day schedules. And what do you need for a Panto? Great script? Check! Songs and Dances? Check! Good Family entertainment? Check! Bad Jokes? Check! A few jokes hopefully only the adults will get? Check! Then you wrap it all up with a great Cast and Crew and you have this show. It’s been my privilege to work with this wonderful group. If you like the show, please tell them! If you find fault, that’s entirely on me. Happy Holidays! – Miles Lavkulich
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Welcome to North Vancouver Community Players’ annual pantomime. We love to not only entertain patrons of all ages but to also support children’s endeavours on the North Shore. Christmas is our time for giving back to the community in many ways. This year the charity we have chosen to receive the net proceeds is Cassie + Friends for Juvenile Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases. Cassie & Friends work on raising awareness of juvenile arthritis and other childhood rheumatic diseases by raising funds for research, pediatric rheumatology programs, services, equipment and educational events. Please remember to drop off your non-perishable food items in our Food Bank box. If you would like to join into the fun on and off stage, please check out our website North Van Community Players under the section Volunteer. We would love to have you aboard! – Fran Heaney
